Cabin in the Ozarks

Center complete, 2 pieced borders to com  3rd border of half square triangles are sewn into pairs to signify trees. 4th border will be Delectable Mountain blocks.  This pattern named for where I currently live in Arkansas at the base of the Ozarks.  Pattern writing in progress!

Update: HSTs paired and being sewn  into borders. But my math isn't working like it should. SO, being mathematically challenged due to foot surgery + drugs, I am taking out a few on each border and adding some green rectangles at the ends to signify the end of the 'view' of the mountains.

Civil War Sampler 2012  Group project with Cuttin Loose quilting group of friends. Had this stack of reproduction browns/pinks saved for a civil war log cabin, decided it needed to be something other than a log cabin as I have 3 in progress at various stages. We were given 3 blocks a month at our group meeting, so far we have 9, 4 more to sew. Our last 3 will be given out at our Feb meeting coming up!
UPDATE:  TOP COMPLETE ~~ to be sent out to be quilted  WOO  HOOO  This one is for me !
Another UPDATE 5.26.13 :  I've decided to piece the back this weekend .. and it's going to be a large one, but well worth it. Pieces are selected, now to make them come together !

UPDATE 7/7/13:  I did NOT piece the back, but I did send it off for quilting. It is IN PROGRESS !  woo hoo ~~
UPDATE 8/15/13:  I have been receiving pictures of quilting in progress .. and it's looking GREAT!!

Mariner's Compass Graduation Quilt: started 7/5/13:
I know, another quilt in the middle ?  Well, my cousin and I have been talking about this for 4 yrs, and her son graduated in May. Fabric was purchased end of April, and she came to visit this week. So we started it ! This one won't be a UFO long.
UPDATE: 8/15/13: Compass pinned / pressed to background ~~ lookin' good !

I recently reorganized my entire sewing room stash/closet. One of the things that come to light are all the OTHER UFO's that were hiding .. so another part to this list ..

Liberty Rose:  started 2003 when my son joined USMC ... the pattern was wrong, had to take a class to figure it out

Pieceful Nights: A Sampler Quilt by Lori Smith. The center of this quilt was going to be the center of my ostrich challenge (above), but I decided that I couldn't do the blocks as we were selecting them. So, fabrics and pieces together waiting for  me to get to them !

Civil War Tribute:  I love Civil War quilts. I soooo wanted to get this done before the end of 2012. I messed up Month #4 and had to get new fabrics, which I have done. Now to get back to doing a block / blocks of each month !

Lonestar(s) ~~ and there are a few !
Blue and Yellow .. it's not just a lonestar, it's a log cabin surrounding a lone star ! Center star is done, math is done, and I was still pulling and auditioning fabrics. Now complete.
Oriental Lone Star .. wedding quilt for son and his wife .. when he gets married !
Oriental Broken Star .. for ME
Mini Christmas Star .. made it when I gave a class using leftovers from a Christmas quilt .. now I can't decide quilt how I want to really finish it as I want to give it 'more'  hahaha
2nd Mini Christmas Star .. was a sample that was in a store and someone spilled coffee on. After I washed the stain out, it needed a bit of ripping out ...

Nine Patch Log Cabin - pattern by Evelyn Sloppy
Did this once for a church fundraiser and decided I needed to do one for ME. As a quilter I never have any quilts as I constantly give them away. All the nine patches are done, and again, I decided to toss out a few of the greens and replace them (I need NINE different ones!)  Now, it's ready.

Emma's Star .. I bought this fabric for my cousin's daughter's first quilt. Have loved it since I picked it out and I need to finish it THIS summer !  She is now entering 2nd grade !  Yikes !

Quilt of Valor -- Mark Lipinski's pattern in the Fons & Porter issue a couple months back ...
Again, for ME, all fabric assembled and ready to go ! Even found a piece in my stash to use ..

That's enough for now .. 2013 has a new goal !
